How does a permanent makeup session take place?
The process of a permanent makeup session can be a source of concern for many, but there’s no need to worry…
Free consultation: Before anything else, Josée offers a complimentary appointment to answer all your questions and determine, with you, the type of permanent makeup you would like.
During this meeting, you will of course discuss the look you want to achieve, but also your needs and the treatment that suits you best.
How does she determine all of this? It’s quite simple.
First, Josée considers your personal preferences. Then she analyzes the shape of your face, your features, your skin tone, as well as your eye and hair colour. Every aspect of your face is important when choosing the right shade. In addition, if you wish, it is possible to proceed with the treatment on the same day as your consultation.
Treatment: Josée applies a topical anesthetic to the desired area. The procedure lasts about one hour on average. Most women only feel a slight vibration on the treated area, which is completely normal.
Once the treatment is complete, a post-care kit can be purchased to help maintain your results. Thanks to the sunscreen included in this kit, your makeup will stay vibrant for longer.
As for your daily activities, you can resume them the very next day without any issue. However, when it comes to makeup, we recommend avoiding any product on the treated area for about a full week. If you enjoy swimming or water activities, you should refrain from going in the water or being exposed to other sources of bacteria for one week, allowing the micro-lesions to fully close. After all, our goal is to ensure optimal healing and flawless results.
Follow-up: Your satisfaction is our priority. This is why Josée offers a touch-up appointment within 6 to 12 weeks after your treatment.
Care Kit: After your session, we offer a post-treatment care kit for only $50. It includes everything you need: sterile compresses, cooling gel compresses, and your choice of soothing drops and mascara or mineral sun powder for the eyes and the entire face.
Recommendations: It is very important to follow the instructions we provide in order to achieve the results you’re expecting. Even if it may be tempting, you must not scratch, rub, or remove any scabs or flakes under any circumstances.
In case of swelling or discomfort, we recommend applying ice or cold compresses. Clean only the treated area with cool water and avoid applying makeup to it during the first week following the procedure.
At the end of your appointment, Josée will provide a personalized information sheet. She will explain whether you need a cream and how to apply it. If you notice redness or irritation, use Polysporin in cream form or eye drops.
Do not be surprised if you experience swelling about two to four days after the treatment. You may also notice small scabs and a slight feeling of tightness for one to two weeks. All of this is completely normal and safe, so there is no need to worry. This procedure does not leave any scars.
To preserve the beauty of your pigments, use sunscreen or wear sunglasses to protect the eye area.
